Saint John was martyred for his faith in Christ, and for not breaking the fast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, in the city of Larissa on October 21, in the year 1773, when he was only 15 years old.
His holy relics were brought back to his native Monemvasia. He is known for his many miracles.
