Queen of Heaven. Fount of Incorruption. Throne of God. All-Pure. Ark of Holiness. Vessel of Holy Wisdom. Crown of Chastity. These are only a few of the many laudations the faithful give to Mary, the Mother of God, the Theotokos. Even with these exalted titles of acclamation, we say, “To number thy great deeds and thy mighty acts is not possible for man, O Bride of God, nor yet can one tell of the unfathomable abyss of thine unending miracles" (Great Supplicatory Canon, Ode IX).
