The best review of St. John of Kronstadt's magnum opus My Life in Christ was written by one of the most skilled hands that ever drew pen across paper in any language--the hand of Protopresbyter Michael Pomozansky. One would profit from reading this spiritual giant's 16-page monograph "An Outline of the Orthodox Worldview of Father John of Kronstadt Based on His Own Words." This work is part of Fr. Michael's anthology Selected Essays that was translated and published by Jordanville's publishing concern and which is available on this website. One would be at a loss to add anything of moment to this consummate analysis, so it's best to let Fr. Michael himself speak: "Father John teaches us the fundamental truths of the Christian faith and life founded on these truths. The value of his theological teaching for us consists of the close connection between his theological thoughts, his words and his life, and all his sanctified activity...." (p. 81). The only thing I can add is that this new translation has no archaic words and is very readable. No spiritual library should be without this absolute masterpiece.
