At one point in the book, Gerondissa speaks of how Christ has one type of grace, Panagia another, the saints another. She also said that if we read of their lives attentively then we can experience their special flavor of grace. The flavor of grace in this book is profound and Gerondissa ranks right up there with Saint Joseph the hesychast or St Paisios. Love this book. Every saint seems to focus on their specialty in virtue or world outlook. Gerondissa has a special emphasis on not judging, which lined up perfectly with what I was needing to hear at the time. Even though this isn't a straight biography, the homilies work well in painting a picture of her life.
This book is absolutely a wonderful treasure. Love her story and the homilies are good to reflect on. I will re-read these again and again to help focus on being obedient to Christ.
This great ascetic Nun had many spiritual gifts. Holy Fathers from Mt Athos helped guide her community. Orthodoxy and true Christianity knows no rationalization or totalitarianism. Through our baptism God guides all of us and clothes us with his spirit whether Greek, Jew, male or female. Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the holy Ghost.
